The Dedham Square Artist Guild is always looking for new applicants interested in becoming members of the Guild.
We are a year-round arts cooperative located on High Street in historic Dedham Square. Our members share the responsibilities and expenses of running the Guild, and informally act as a support group for fellow artists. Many members are full-time professionals who find cooperatives a welcome addition to help strengthen their participation in an artistic community.
The application form is available as a pdf download located at the bottom of this page. Please include an artist resume/bio with your application, along with 3-5 images of finished and current examples of your work. A $20 non-refundable jury fee is required when applying for membership and must be included with your application (cash or check payable to DSAG). New applicants are reviewed by our jury committee based on a variety of factors including; space availability, workmanship, attention to detail, appeal to our customers, originality, price and durability, as well as competition with current members work.
Members are required to contribute 6 hours of their time each month to Guild activities, including staffing and maintaining the gallery space, committees, and event planning. It is also important to attend meetings and openings, and help promote the cooperative.
Members pay a fee of $27.50 per month. This fee goes helps support the gallery overhead including: utilities, rent, advertising, supplies, etc.
The commission split for gallery sales is 70/30 for all members. The 30% that goes to the gallery helps to support the gallery overhead, in addition to Member Fees.
